Protect Yourself From Shingles
Shingles can happen when the varicella-zoster virus (the virus that causes chickenpox) becomes active again later in life. It often causes a painful rash, usually on one side of the body or face, and may begin with burning, tingling, itching, or pain before the rash appears.
For some adults, shingles can lead to lasting nerve pain or other complications that affect daily comfort, sleep, and daily routines. Risk increases with age, which is why prevention becomes an important conversation for many adults 50 and older.
